If anyone has anyone that is in the Legal System and in the Correctional System and feels as if they are being treated wrongly by Corrections Officers and other Law Enforcement here are few things that you can do. I was told these tips by one of the Heads of the Mental Health Courts program in the York County, PA Judicial System.
Tips for Advocacy
1. Write the Warden of the Prison or Jails or other Correctional Facilities: York County, PA Warden, Mary Sabol or Steven
2. Make sure you have documentation of all the mistreatments, dates, times, and names of other inmates or of the Correctional Officers.
3. Notify NAMI and the Victim Advocacy through the Mental Health Courts program to be assigned a proper Advocate especially if you are diagnosed with Mental and Emotional illnesses.
*If not diagnosed with a Mental and Emotional illness ask for an Advocate to get Evaluated for any triggers or any other Behavior Health issues.
4. Contact NAMI E-Mail or speak with Tim Grumbacher (President, Board of Directors: NAMI PA York County) and Rose Alberghini (Executive Director NAMI PA York County). And ask for and Advocate and tell them the details and documentation of all the Events.

**** Now I’m not saying that being Diagnosed with Mental and Emotional illnesses is a get out of jail free card but, it is something that can be controlled and give hope to those that are and have been victimized at anytime in there lives and it gives a the Judicial System some answers to what and why these particular individuals’ behaviors are the way they are.****
